Another closure… The Designers Republic

One of the most infuential designer collectives is shutting it’s doors after 23 years.
I guess nothing stays forever but destiny has been extremely harsh on creative companies this January.

Maybe the name doesn’t ring a bell to people who aren’t involved directly into graphic design but I’m shure most of us have seen their designs on dance records (Funkstörung, Mr. Velcro Fastener, a heap of Warp releases,…) and video games (WipeOut).

I’d just like to thank The Designers Republic for inspiring a generation.

The company will be shut down but the master brain behind it all will not rest… Ian Anderson claims that he’s still motivated to continue his work… Even more radically now…

I can’t wait to see their future designs…
I bet they’ll kick some royal butt.

wow that’s crazy, so many great records got the D.R. treatment, it was almost like they were the visual language of techno for a good run there. Looking forward to whatever they do next.
