30/06/09 • YOUNISON / BAFF ANTWERP 0

My latest design project was the identity and promotional artwork for YOUNISON.
I’d like to support Kelvin Smits’ quest and would like to invite every artist, DJ/producer, agent/manager and organiser to do so to:

Support Younison’s call-for-action to the President of the European Union.

In order to foster a vibrant pan-European market for creative digital content, Younison respectfully asks the European Commission to examine/revise the current system of collective management of copyright levies in Europe.

KEY ISSUES

  1. Fair and transparent  distribution of digital revenues.  In today’s world, music is increasingly consumed over the Internet, on mobile phones and other digital devices via innovative delivery models that range from subscription services to pay-per-downloads. As artists have embraced these technological changes, Younison is seeking to ensure that they receive a fair share of digital revenues generated.
  2. Collecting societies act as intermediaries between artists and consumers to gather and distribute digital revenues. It is important that new digital distribution channels are reflected in the way collecting societies operate and allocate revenues to artists. Full transparency within this process is essential to ensure that artists are empowered and their rights fully respected.
  3. Younison calls on collecting societies to engage in better accountability, greater transparency and fair redistribution of digital music revenues to artists across Europe.

For this purpose, Younison members should sign-up to the Digital Content Charter

Another closure… The Designers Republic 5

One of the most infuential designer collectives is shutting it’s doors after 23 years.
I guess nothing stays forever but destiny has been extremely harsh on creative companies this January.

Maybe the name doesn’t ring a bell to people who aren’t involved directly into graphic design but I’m shure most of us have seen their designs on dance records (Funkstörung, Mr. Velcro Fastener, a heap of Warp releases,…) and video games (WipeOut).

I’d just like to thank The Designers Republic for inspiring a generation.

Just received the official newsletter from Clone
One of my all times favourite labels  is shutting down!

I will pamper my Clone vinyl with plastic sleeves even more now.
Thanks for the vast amount of innovating releases over the last 10 years.

Heil Clone!
